I’m not sure they even sell those in Arizona. But the timing is perfect, because his D-backs are absolutely humming in Destiny Draft.
We start the episode with a quick Destiny Draft update and a couple of new things we’ve dropped on the site: the live scoreboard and a searchable points database that lets you look up any player and see how they’re scoring under our Destiny Draft system. It’s genuinely handy if you want to follow along properly instead of guessing.
And if you want to jump in, we’ve got a new rip next Monday. Hit us up on the contact page and we’ll get you in the mix as the listener picker.
Then we pivot into something both hilarious and depressing: Mike Trout. The best modern player to never win a playoff game, and it’s not close. Once you lay out the numbers, it becomes one of the strangest legacies in modern baseball. A generational player, a microscopic October sample, and zero wins to show for it.
Finally, we get to the main event: the third and final Alphabet Theme Team. This time it’s J through P, and we take another swing at the Q–Z squad. We got way closer than expected, which is the worst possible outcome because it means we’ll argue about it forever. Whether we actually get it done… you’ll have to listen.
Then, as always, Eric has to run, and Spoon closes us out with midweek picks.
Long episode, plenty of nonsense, and a couple of genuinely good segments in there too.
