Destiny Draft is Baseball Expats’ ongoing fantasy-style draft series built around one simple idea: the cards decide the player pool.
Instead of drafting from the entire MLB universe, Spoon cracks open a pack (or stack) of baseball cards and whatever names appear become the available draft board. Then we build teams from that limited pool and track the results over a fixed window.
How it works
- Spoon opens the cards
The players pulled from the pack become the eligible draft pool for that round. - We run a snake draft
We draft teams in a classic snake format (the pick order reverses each round). - We score it over a short window
Each Destiny Draft round runs for a set period (usually two weeks). We track points based on player performance during that window only. - We post the live scoreboard
The scoreboard is updated so you can follow along, talk trash, and pretend you would’ve drafted better.
Scoring (simple version)
We use a points-based scoring system that rewards the obvious stuff:
- Hitters: getting on base and doing damage (hits, extra-base hits, homers, RBIs, steals)
- Pitchers: outs and dominance (innings, strikeouts, wins/saves/holds depending on role)
The full scoring breakdown lives on the scoreboard page so it’s always up to date.
Where to follow it
- Live scoreboard
- Round posts: each round gets its own recap and running leaderboard on the site.
